On May 25-26, CITIC Group and the Hainan government hosted the International Life and Health Enterprises Hainan Visit event, a major international exchange in the life-health sector since the Hainan Free Trade Port launched the island-wide special customs operations.
Themed "Dialogue on Hainan Free Trade Port · A New Global Vision for Health", the event attracted more than 170 enterprises from 19 countries and regions. The goal was to leverage Hainan's policy advantages to establish a high‑level platform in the life-health industry for international cooperation, resource sharing and project matchmaking.

On the morning of May 26, the Cooperation Exchange Conference for the International Life and Health Enterprises Hainan Visit took place in Haikou. Participants included Xi Guohua, chairman of CITIC Group; Zhang Wenwu, president of CITIC; Feng Fei, secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee; Liu Xiaoming, governor of Hainan province as well as representatives of leading international life-health companies, business associations and institutions.
At the conference, CITIC's Xi Guohua described the Hainan Free Trade Port as a new high ground and gateway for opening-up and international cooperation. "The full implementation of Hainan's policies presents historic opportunities for the bio-health industry to integrate into global industrial chains," Xi said. He added that CITIC would leverage its strengths as a multinational conglomerate to serve as a bridge between China and the world and deepen cooperation with Hainan in biomedicines, high-end medical care and wellness services. CITIC has provided a financing support package exceeding 39 billion yuan ($5.7 billion) to facilitate win-win cooperation during the events in Hainan.
Discussions were held on a range of topics such as China-UK economic collaboration, localization of precision radiation therapy, introduction of sports rehabilitation services and crossborder technology transfers. The discussions focused on sharing experiences and cooperation intentions, as well as exploring new pathways for technology commercialization, industrial synergies and the twoway openingup.
A number of key projects were signed in areas such as cross-border investment promotions, high-end medical equipment, special drug insurance services, as well as rehabilitation and elderly care collaboration. These projects are expected to accelerate the concentration and the highquality development of the entire life and health industry chain in the Hainan FTP.
Participants from Chinese and international financial institutions also visited Haikou, Sanya, and Boao town to learn more about Hainan FTP's policy advantages, industrial layout and its achievements in innovation and opening-up.
