CITIC Aerospace and Defense Award presentation was held on October 28th in Beijing. The award was initiated to honor 10 young and mid-career scientists and researchers working in the forefront of aerospace and defense industry. Leaders present at the ceremony were Mr. Tian Guoli, Vice-chairman and President of CITIC Group Corporation, Mr. Xu Dazhe, President of CASIC (China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation), Mr. Li Xikui, Deputy Secretary-General of CSCLF(China Soong Ching Ling Foundation), Mr. Pu Jian, President of CITIC Trust and Mr. Chen Yisong, General Manager of CITIC Trust.

CITIC Trust, innovatively capitalizing on the platform for social good of CSCLF, initiated CITIC Growth Fund for Aerospace and Defense Talents and thereby the CITIC Aerospace and Defense Award. The award recognizes the outstanding achievements of young and mid-career scientists and researchers and stands to testify the principle held dear to the trust industry, namely finance benefiting all & capital shared by all. With entrusted asset well over the mark of 520 billion RMB, CITIC Trust has been leading the industry for years in overall strength.

Mr. Tian Guoli, President of CITIC Group Corporation, expressed gratitude to CSCLF for its endorsement for CITIC’s effort to promote public good. He emphasized that CITIC Group has been a champion for corporate social responsibility and an active participant in national development. He hopes the CITIC Award will help encourage scientists and researchers and will help inspire more talents to join in the field of defense industry. He also hopes that through tri-party cooperation a long-term incentive mechanism for national science personnel shall be put into place, which will make good use of trust industry to pool more resources for science and technology(S&T) undertaking.

Mr. Xu Dazhe, President of CASIC thanked CITIC Group and CITIC Trust for the great support. He said the award spurred on S&T workers in CASIC and will surely aid them in making greater breakthroughs in S&T. CASIC and its staff have contributed and have been dedicated to strengthening China’s military and aerospace S&T.

Also present at the ceremony were Mr. Lu Jingsheng, Deputy Party Secretary of CITIC Trust, Zhang Jisheng and Li Zimin, Vice General Managers of CITIC Trust and Xiang Xiaojing, Deputy Director of Fund Department of CSCLF. Headquarter of CASIC and CASIC’s affiliations were also represented at the event.
